Grosvenor details New Casino Renovations coming to Portsmouth location

The Grosvenor Casino in the Gunwharf Quays retail outlet has shuttered its doors for a new casino renovation that owners say will be a boon for the community of Portsmouth. Once reopened, the popular gambling destination will feature additional slot machine and a host of new live and electronic table games, as well many new opportunities for employment.

The Rank Group Plc, which owns the Grosvenor Casinos and Mecca Bingo brands, confirmed via press release that they are investing an additional £600k in the property. The company said the primary focus of the affluent overhaul is to increase existing customer retention and new player acquisitions, while providing a significant increase in job opportunities for locals.

New Casino Games Coming

The new casino renovations will include an expansion of the gaming area, allowing the Grosvenor Casino to install an additional 20 slot machines, 4 new live dealer table games and 8 electronic roulette terminals.

A whole new area of the casino is being built as a dedicated space for games never before offered by Grosvenor’s Portsmouth location. The casino will soon host exciting new games said to include a Bucket Dice Table, Big Money Wheel, Cardette and Double Zero Roulette; the Americanized version of the popular table game.

40 New Job Openings Pending

The company said the community will benefit from the new casino renovation by way of 40 additional job opportunities. That figure represents a 27% increase in employment compared to the existing 150 staff members already working at the facility.

Grosvenor Casino Portsmouth General Manager, Tracey Collins, commented on the new casino renovations, and the company’s enthusiasm towards the upcoming unveiling.

“We can’t wait to unveil the fantastic new facilities that will be on offer to Portsmouth,” said Collins. “Not only will this investment allow us to provide an exceptional gaming experience for both new and existing customers, but it will also create important job opportunities for the local community.”

She described the improvements as a means of “delivering an improved gaming offering in direct response to customer demand,” and went on to detail the impending introduction of “a brand new bespoke gaming area which will create a really fun atmosphere in the casino.”

Collins commended the commitment of Grosvenor Casino Portsmouth in delivering what customers desire most. “We always strive to provide something for everyone and the addition of these new tables will add some more theatre within the casino environment.”

No Date for Grand Re-Opening

She did not offer any specific timeline for the completion of the new casino renovation in yesterday’s press release. However, Collins assured their loyal customers that the grand unveiling will be a dramatic celebratory experience for all.

“We’ll be sure to celebrate the unveiling of the new look casino with a bang,” she said in the press release.

According to the website, the expansion and refurbishments should be complete in a “few months”, so perhaps as early as September or October. The Grosvenor Casino Portsmouth Website currently reads:
